Valentine’s Day is my absolute favorite holiday. Pink, red, hearts, lace, chocolate, love, flowers…seriously, why would it not be my favorite?

Below are several outfits I wore this Valentine season, for several different occasions. Hope you are inspired by them to put together some love-themed outfits of your own!

Preppy Valentine

White tag Lilly corduroy pants with hot pink hearts all over, a Lilly polo, and a Lands End cashmere sweater make this a perfectly modest and work-appropriate Valentine’s Day outfit. I paired this with hot pink Cole Haan loafers and a hot pink Kate Spade bag and wore this outfit to work the Friday before Valentine’s Day.

Casual Valentine

I wore a dressed up version of this to work on the Thursday before Valentine’s Day. Just swap out the jeans for trousers and the boots for ballet flats, and add a fun necklace. With jeans and boots, however, it is a cute and slightly edgy look for running around town or if you have laid-back Valentine’s plans.

Daytime Valentine

I wore this to go out to lunch with my sweetheart and to run errands on Valentine’s day morning/afternoon. It is simple- a Lilly lip top, pink J. Crew cardigan, skinny Lucky jeans, and the same pink Cole Haan loafers I wore with the Lilly pants. Simple, valentine-y and cute, but very comfortable.

The Red and Black Valentine

My look for our Valentine’s dinner date. My black and white fit-and-flare dress is from the clearance rack at Target, the red bow belt was a  left over from a Minnie Mouse costume of years past, and a red J. Crew cardigan kept the chills away. My red patent leather wedges are Cole Haan.

A black/white/red/pink Valentine’s Day scarf tied everything together. My pink ruffled coat was a Christmas gift from my mother and I have been dying for an occasion to wear it. This one seemed perfect.

Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all! I hope you had a wonderful day. Did you have any special plans with your friends, family, or honey?

Gameday Wedding

Who gets married on a Saturday in the fall?! Especially at this critical point of football season. Clearly not someone who follows college football.  Unfortunately, we are attending a wedding instead of a tailgate party today, although I would much rather be at a football game.

I’m sure we will spend the reception crowded around a tv with other wedding guests who would rather be in a stadium.

For the wedding, I chose to “show my stripes” and wear my Lillybee Clemson gameday flats, while my fiance wore his Clemson striped tie (similar). I have shoved my Southern Proper “Game Day” koozie into my tiny clutch, hoping there is beer at the reception.

Have a wonderful Saturday, and Go Tigers!

Today’s outfit is brought to you by the usual trio: Lilly Pulitzer, Jack Rogers, and J. Crew.

The centerpiece of this outfit is the citrus fruit-print skirt by Lilly called “Squeeze Me.” It has so many vibrant colors that it really makes coordinating effortless.

I paired it with a solid orange tank from J. Crew and a solid pink cardigan, also from J. Crew.

Pink and lime green Jacks went on my feet and to tie it all together, I put on fabulous bangles and a statement necklace from Target (along with my usual watch, pearl bracelet, and pink fitbit flex).

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

We have our entire team in our office this week for strategy meetings. I debated dressing serious, like I knew other people would be, and then I decided that a cardigan would be serious enough.

Cardigan: J. Crew.
Shirt and skirt: Lilly.
Arm party: Fossil watch, Fitbit flex, pearl bracelet, and Target frog and flamingo bracelets.
Necklace: MonogramOnline.
Shoes: Jack Rogers.

Happy 4th of July! For the 4th, I wanted to show y’all four cute ways to style this patriotic tank from Shop Football Tees to fit any activity you might be doing on the 4th of July!

Here is the tank I used in all my outfits (available from Shop Football Tees):

My first outfit is one for hanging out poolside or going out on the lake.

Swimsuit (similar): Target, Bag: Marley Lilly, Shorts: Gap.

This next outfit is for working out on the 4th– maybe you are participating in an Independence day themed 5k or just hitting the gym.

Shorts: Nike Tempo (monogrammed by me), Red Sox hat, FitBit Flex

The next outfit is perfect for just about anything you might be doing. It has more of a nautical flair, so it would be great for watching fireworks over the water somewhere later tonight. The cardigan would ward off any nighttime chills!

Shorts: J. Crew (old), belt: J. Crew (old), Cardigan: J. Crew (old), Sunglasses: Target, Necklace: Monogram Online

Any of these shoes would go great with the above look. I was wearing the left pair, but depending on your activity, the sandals or boat shoes on the right might be more appropriate.

Left: Sperry (old), Middle: Tommy Hilfiger (similar), Right: Sperry

And lastly, is the Southern Belle/ Country Queen look. The boots on the tank reminded me of these wonderful flag print cowboy boots I have. What better time to pull them out than the 4th? Because boots in July can get a little hot, I would recommend this for nighttime, maybe for a cookout or some fireworks out in the country.

Mustang: ’65, Shorts: made from an old pair of jeans, Boots: Durango

Everyone have a wonderful, fun, and SAFE 4th of July! Enjoy the extra time you (hopefully) have off with friends and family!

Good Monday morning! This past Saturday was the first day of summer, as well as “National Wear Your Lilly Day,” or as frequently seen on social media, #nwyld. NWYLD has been going on for several years, but this year, it seemed like it was more popular than ever. To make it an even more special day, Lilly Pulitzer gave you a free pendant necklace with any purchase, either in store or online, all day on June 21.

I went in to my local Lilly store to make my purchase and pick up my necklace and had the opportunity to celebrate with other Lilly lovers. Here I am with the beautiful Francis, wearing one of this season’s most popular prints, “Jellies Be Jammin.”

Now, I have a lot of Lilly. But for my ootd this year, I decided on the Nina dress in Pretty Pink Tootie, which I had never worn before. Pretty Pink Tootie is a sweet pink and green floral print and this Nina has lovely details, like a scalloped hem and bows down the back zipper.

I also just so happen to have an awesome straw hat with a Pretty Pink Tootie bow that was a Lilly gift with purchase last year. So here is my outfit for NWYLD 2014:

I have been slaaacking on my OOTD posts lately. Sorry! It is because I am super lazy. Here is a brief rundown of some outfits lately; most of these are pulled from my Instagram.

I am crazy about these printed tops from Target:

Pineapple shirt (paired with a maltipoo, Ralph Lauren black chino skirt, Brighton belt, Gap yellow sandals, and statement necklace, also from Target)

Whale shirt (paired with Lilly Pulitzer pink shorts, pink statement necklace, and sandals by J. Crew and Jack Rogers)

Lilly Pulitzer “Shorely Blue Tossing the Line” Serena dress with beaded detail, Jack Rogers Sardinia sandals in platinum/Caribbean blue, and bee jewelry from Target.

photo 1Ralph Lauren bag, Ralph Lauren Sweater, Lilly Pulitzer polo shirt, and Lilly Pulitzer full length pants in “Buena Vista” print– more commonly known as the “Brooke Shields” print, as she designed them. Same Jack Rogers and bee jewelry as above! 🙂 This was a chilly day!

photo 3

Monogrammed necklace from MonogramOnline, ruffled Banana Republic shirt, J. Crew skirt, and my lovely work badge I get to accessorize every outfit with.

photo 4This is what I’m rocking today. Target short-sleeved cable sweater (old), Lilly “Climbing the Ladder” skirt, bag, and cosmetic bag (all scavenged from eBay), lime green Jacks, monogram ring and bangle from Marley Lilly and pearls. Also making a guest appearance is the rewined candle on our dresser– seriously the best smelling line of candles ever, and I’m not just saying that because I love wine.

Sorry for being so terrible at updating my blog! I promise I’ll do better in the future! 🙂

May 122014

Mother’s Day is really special to me because I am ridiculously close to my mother. She was a stay-at-home mom the entire time I was growing up and my dad traveled a lot for work so there was just a natural, tight-knit bond that came for us. She is truly my best friend in the world. My Mr. is out of the country for work right now (which you can see me whine about on Instagram) and I miss him a ton, but it was actually nice to have the weekend free to spend with mama. No other obligations, nothing to do, just mother-daughter time. Work and life get in the way so much that sometimes I miss just sitting out on the porch with her.

This was also the first year that I have been a {puppy} mama! We’ve had animals my whole life, but this is the first year that I have had a dog that was mine; that I picked out and have been responsible for the care of. He got me several cards and Starbucks and spent the day trying to drag sticks around that are far bigger than he is, while mama and I watched from the porch.

baxterMom and I got up early and went to church together, which we do every Sunday, and then came home and relaxed and had a few drinks before preparing the Mother’s Day meal for my parents and grandparents. We made a traditional Southern style meal: the most scrumptious slow-cooked pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread, and an amazing pina colada cake that I will post the recipe for soon.

For church, I wore a Lilly Pulitzer “Creme Fraiche” strawberry print dress, Pink J. Crew cardigan, pink and green Jack Rogers sandals, pink clutch I monogrammed, Lilly Pulitzer “Creme Fraiche” watch, and pearl earrings, necklace and bracelet. The “Creme Fraiche” print is a few years old, so your best bet for finding anything in that print would be eBay.

When I ordered myself a few blank clutches to monogram, I really wasn’t expecting to LOVE them like I do. They are just so cute that I find myself carrying them a lot more than I ever thought I would…

What did y’all do for Mother’s Day?

Apr 112014

I was asked to visit a different site than the one I typically work from this week. The site I visited is very large and spread out, so I knew my visit would involve a lot of walking and I would need comfortable clothes and shoes. I am also one of the youngest people at my company, so I always try to dress professionally so I will be taken seriously. Pink is my favorite color (obviously) so this outfit was an easy choice!

I had to be at the site early so my cashmere sweater kept the chills away and my loafers were sooo comfortable for walking. I always have to have a huge purse so I can carry all my junk for work around, and this Coach bag is just the right size.

We took these photos downtown after dinner last night, so yes, I was a little rundown and wrinkly after walking a hundred miles around the site and then working the rest of the day! Excuse the mess! 🙂
